Algorithm: Bitcoin’s SHA-256 algorithm has been time tested and is stable (May, 2019).

Marketplace Redundancy: Listed on multiple major exchanges, including Bittrex, BitMEX, Binance, CoinBase, Poloniex, Kraken and plenty of other exchanges.

Development

Communication: The developers at the Bitcoin foundation are constantly improving Bitcoin Core.

Community: The community a large-sized development community, who release a continuous flow of new and sometimes innovative products.

Timeline: No official roadmaps can be found.

Communication: Spoke with their community manager, Chris Bridgman, via LinkedIn (January, 2019).

Website: Their website is completely custom and has a sleek appeal (May, 2019).

Methodology: Primary adoption is being generated by consumers along with merchant services. There are additional merchants accepting Bitcoin daily (directly and by proxy) which is helping accelerate Bitcoin’s adoption rate and growth.

Graphical User Interface

Explorer: There is not an official Bitcoin explorer, however, there are dozens of third party Bitcoin explorers online. The most popular ones are BlockExplorer and BTC (April, 2019).

Wallet: The official Bitcoin Wallet works excellent, functionality is nominal (May, 2019). Additionally, there are dozens of third-party (hardware) wallets such as Ledger and Trezor.
